Social Butterfly Jeffrey Epstein - The Guy Sure Did Get Around (William Burns, Kathryn Ruemmler, Leon Botstein, and Many More)

"The nation’s spy chief, a longtime college president and top women in finance. The circle of people who associated with Jeffrey Epstein years after he was a convicted sex offender is wider than previously reported, according to a trove of documents that include his schedules." - The Wall Street Journal, April 30, 2023

Those documents hadn't been reported previously. They verify that the social reach of the late Epstein had been larger than the usual suspects such as Leon Black, Prince Andrew, Bill Gates, and Bill Clinton. The new additions include William Burns (CIA), Kathryn Ruemmler (Goldman Sachs), and Leon Botstein (Bard College).

Heck, the investigation into what may have gone down at JPMorgan Chase in The Epstein Connection could turn up small potatoes, in comparsion. CEO Jamie Dimon might not be so roughed up in the media.

Also, not unthinkable: A top reputational-restoration service could rebrand Black who has lost so much through his friendship with Epstein. That has included stepping down from his leadership roles at the financial firm he had co-founded - Apollo - and at the Museum of Modern Art. Will he fare better in the court of public opinion in his legal battle with his former mistress Guzel Ganieva? Will the prestigious law firm previously representing him - Paul Weiss - again embrace him as a client? Father, forgive him, he was hardly the only one ...

Meanwhile, in addition we wonder about this: What controversy will envelop the careers of Burns, et al. Here is my article, published just last week in O'Dwyer's Public Relations, on how controversy is developing a new mean bite. It is also proving more sticky.

As a result, we could be re-entering the era of conformity which characterized the Eisenhower Administration. We boomers vividly remember how our parents, high school guidance counselors, and the parish priests cautioned us to not break any rules. That could have accounted for the intensity of our rebellion during the counterculture.

In any event. the world of power and influence has changed today as result of this WSJ report. Again, controversy has turned ugly.
