2024: How Could TIME Ever Capture Our Times ...

Maybe only the Silent Gen and Boomers recall the market and influence the TIME franchise had summing up our lives, especially each year as we lived it.

That was then. Everything seemed simpler and believeable. With blind obedience, for example, we followed the advice of the exploding-in-growth career-guidance industry. Go get that MBA. Understand the military model for corporate jobs. Be like Bill Clinton and record the contact information of everyone you meet.

Here it is 2024. Unlikely that TIME could get idown what we are now about. Those who are featured as supposed experts by the dying establishment media industry even admit to the uncertainty of what is and what will be.

Just about everything has mutated into a Black Swan - those unpredictable developments which put in play paradigm shifts.

The post-WWII blind faith in higher education, including the Harvard MBA, has been shaken.

The respected Knowledge Worker such as a management consultant, increasingly unemployed, is seeking to make ends meet dashing around town delivering meals.

Iconic litigators like Paul, Weiss' Brad Karp rebrand themselves as genius political fundraisers. That, not their legal chops, could provide the pathway for their next career. And, no longer is politics what the mainstream can declare as not appropriate for polite conversation. We have to talk to preserve our financial and legal systems.

Gen AI is a wild card, especially in investment.

Scandal is mutating into more mere entertainment and less a definite career-ender.

Given the in-primetime falling-apart of Joe Biden, aging again is perceived as a liability. Going is the inspirational talk about functioning well in the traditional labor market into one's 90s. Even media tycoon Rupert Murdoch is assessed as losing his influence in the Republican Party.

The joke of this new era could be: How big a time capsule would be needed to place items which symbolize what has gone down and will still go down in 2024?
