Social Comeback Interrupted? Sexual Misconduct Legal Action against Leon Black Moving Forward

On the social circuits which matter, things seemed to have been falling back into place for one-time high-flyer turned pariah Leon Black. Now this, reports Bloomberg Law:

"Apollo Global Management co-founder Leon Black must face claims that in 2002 he raped a 16-year-old girl in Jeffrey Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, a New York federal court ruled."

The ruling comes in US Disrict Court in the Southern District of New York by Judge Jessica G. L. Clarke. The pretrial conference will take place on October 29th.

Among the reasons this is so buzzworthy is because of the contention that the plaintiff - going by the moniker "Jane Doe" - contends that she was trafficked for sex at age 16 by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. Among the recipients of her services, she claims, had been Black. He states he never met her. He is being represented by Quinn Emanuel and Estrich Goldin.

In Shakespeare's tragedy "King Lear," the fallen monarch, in a surge of self-pity, sees himself as more sinned against than sinning. That could really be the situation Black has been in. He had the bad luck of being among those early-outings of Friends of Jeffrey. Therefore he received the motherlode of vilification. Piled on to that a mistress decided to turn on him in a lawsuit that had plenty of traction in the media.
