BoomerVille: Has the Shoe Dropped?

The CNBC headline captures the dread in BoomerVille:

"Stocks fall as Palantir declines, raising fears about about AI valuations"

The fall was worse earlier this morning. Now here it is, only in the 200s:

So, here we are on an election day which could change politics as we've known it. And the shoe might have dropped on the near-term growth potential of our investments. The bull market might not only be ending. There could be a crash, not a correction.

There will be little empathy for this potential reversal of fortune.

After all, we are on Medicare. That means we are covered for healthcare. Sure. that monthly payment could go up to over $200 for 2026. But it's plenty less than what those too young to be eligible for Medicare have to pony up.

And we get Social Security. Will we be the last generation for that to be a real source of income after we're too old to earn from our labor? Gen Zers I talk with rule that out for themselves. Simultaneously it's difficult for that gen to build wealth.

However, the wheel of fortune could move in the wrong direction if AI valuations begin to tank. Meanwhile's Salesforce's AI product Sophie isn't yielding the expected ROI.

As a coach, what I am picking up is a bit of panic among boomers who were previously feeling financially secure.

Thrown off your game, maybe the first time since you started working? You made all the right moves and then the world moved in another direction.
