Emailing Epstein - Sophisticated People (one even a lawyer) Being So Reckless

It's been forever in the general news and not just legal media: How so-and-so got into the soup because of emails. No, don't put in email what you don't want made available to the media, law enforcement and more.

This had to be known by Larry Summers, Michael Wolff and, you bet, Kathy Ruemmler who is a practicing lawyer. Yet, they obsessively communicated with Jeffrey Epstein in emails which, as we all know, now have been made public.

So dumb was this that in Politico Richard Bradley calls Summers an "asshole." The guy is finished. There's no coming back from the tone and content of the emails. It will be only a matter of time before he will have to announce his resignation from teaching at Harvard. Smirk. What about his marriage?

Soon the media will discard Wolff, no longer giving him a forum for defending himself. How will he ever gain access again to the sources he needs to continue a career in writing? He can try creating his own megaphone through podcasting but what kind of following can he create and sustain? After her broadcast failure Megyn Kelly did come back through podcasting. But that is threatened by her recent argument that Epstein wasn't a pedophile and her alignment with the now-wounded Donald Trump.

As for Ruemmler, as yet Goldman Sacks has not made a move in response to her even maintaining an association with Epstein. As for the emails which showcase a very unpleasant human being, we have to assume the top-most tier is waiting to see if this particular part of the scandal deepens. In any event, she's already damaged goods. Because of the tension generated among Goldman employees over all this, will she decide to resign?

So how could sophisticated players behave so recklessly? My experience as an intuitive coach and tarot reader provides this answer: They live their lives assuming they operate in a protective bubble. Too much is at stake with too many of the powerful to incur any risk. Or so they think.

UPDATE:  Summers resigns from OpenAI board. Here are details from CNBC.
