Stars Aligned Just Right for Leon Black - Judge Tosses Guzel Ganieva's Lawsuit Against Him, Many Other Friends of Epstein Outed
Finally, things are going his way. For several years Apollo co-founder Leon Black has been a designated punching bag for having been associated with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Only recently have the names of other movers and shakers been outed. They range from JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon to iconic linguist Noam Chomsky. Clearly the heat is off Black on that.
Now this: New York Supreme Court Judge David B. Cohen tossed the high-profile sensationistic lawsuit against hm filed by his former mistress Guzel Ganieva. As The Wall Street Journal reports, that was primarily because she had signed the NDA. For that she was eligible to be paid $9.5 million.
Yes, there's another lawsuit floating around the ether. That's by Cheri Pierson. But that hasn't sucked up the oxygen like the Ganieva one.
Essentially, things are just right for Black to begin the journey back to where he had been in business and the culture. Options are so open. Since he had to step down from leadership of Apollo and the Modern Museum of Art, he could launch his own organizations to fill that branding gap. Actually, like Mike Milken, who engineered a roaring comeback post-prision, Black can return stronger than before. And perhaps with more glam than Milken since he doesn't have being a jailbird to shake off.
Welcome back, Leon. The world is yours again.
