Paul Weiss Corporate Groups Reported Hiring, Praised for Not Overhiring During Covid

Amid the employment-related doom and gloom in professional services there are exceptions. On Fishbowl Big Law it's reported that Paul Weiss is hiring in its corporate groups. One happy recruiter reports that he has 10 clients interviewing there presently. During the past few months he notes that he had made four placements.

Also, Paul Weiss gets pats on the back for its selective recruitment policies during COVID. That is, it didn't overhire, only to PIP (Proposal for Improvement of Performance) those entry-levels and laterals in this overall slowed-down legal market. Among the compliments is this:

" ... they [Paul Weiss] didn’t overhire during COVID and as a result, find themselves shortstaffed. The firm has Very stringent hiring criteria and did not relax a bit when everyone else did."

This all had been posted six hours ago. The news of openings is probably spreading like wild fire right now. That brings hope during this upside-down time.

Three cheers for Paul Weiss chairperson Brad Karp - the guy with the jobs.
