Spillover from Film "Accountant2" - It's Okay to Be Neurodiverse
Today the movie theater, usually fairly empty, was packed. The crowds were for the film "Accountant2," a sequel to the initial peculiar tale of a highly effective human being who's very different from what's considered the norm in society. His father had equipped him to navigate a rigid social system in his own way.
In this version, the man who experts might label "neurodiverse" and his normie brother rescue a boy missing for years from the bad guys. In the process they delight audiences with how they break the rules. Deadly violence keeps happening all over the place. But they get the job done. And in working together as a team bring a brotherly relationship back on track.
This deviation from the norm doesn't bother the neurodivergent a bit. In addition, he's portrayed as downright charming by the skillful acting of Ben Affleck.
That combination might be triggering this question in some: Am I neurodivergent?
Well, I asked ChatGPT that. That generative AI platform is now equipped with a free version of OpenAI's DeepResearch. Based on the o4 reason model it does much of the digging and report summaries as the paid version, based on o3. Well, here's the link of what it comes up with for the signs of being neurodivergent.
Essentially it represents an atypical continuum of how information is retrieved and interpreted. Obsessive focus is common. That has impacts on everything from the capacity (actually the lack of it) for social interaction to motor skills. ChatGPT points out that many with this wiring realize it is wise to mask it and they take on the protective coloring of normies. However, I would add that I know from my intuitive coaching since they sense they are very different they tend to suffer feelings of being less-than. A society is usually unforgiving of those who "don't fit in."
It's speculated that those kinds of high-achievers who seem to grind effortlessly in elite law firms such as Paul Weiss and Kirkland & Ellis as well as other erudite lines of work like management consulting, tech startups and professorships in academia could be neurodivergent. Heigh ho, heigh ho, off to a focus they go and stay and stay.
What "Accountant2" does is give "permission" to generate results in oddball ways. The hell with the normies.
